Noodling Anyone?

If you are a Vegan don't read this. If you are a Vegan, you should know I love meat and completely support hunting. And guns.
(I am laughing so hard right now - I sound so tough)

On to my point.......
So my girlfriend Carren and I have been emailing this morning and I asked her about her weekend - she goes hunting with her dad and other family members on the weekends and they ride 4 wheelers, drink, hang out, etc. I asked her if she was able to shoot anything this weekend which eventually led me to inquire about Noodling! I asked Carren if she was going to start Noodling. Well she did not know what Noodling was - I was quite surprised. If you know me, you know that I know little bits about lots of stuff and mainly its because I surround myself with people that are very bright so I am always learning. If you know Carren, you know she is like a freaking sponge that absorbs all information she hears, sees and reads.

I am quite excited that I am going to teach Carren about this sport - especially since it has to do with some form of hunting. I am not a hunter - I will happily eat the hunted but not go hunting. I will happily ride a 4 wheeler, camp, shoot guns and cook hunted things but never, ever will I go hunting. I should also let you know that My grandfather hunted, my uncles hunt, my father hunts and I have many friends that hunt so I respect the hunter and the hunted.

I keep getting side tracked - Noodling Catfish:
Most noodling takes place in shallow water. If the water is over your head, it can be difficult or even impossible to wrestle a fish to the surface. Noodlers search for likely catfish hideouts -- inside submerged logs, fallen trees, under rocks or in mud banks. Catfish make their nests where they feel safe. During spawning season, which occurs in spring and summer when the water temperature rises to about 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celsius), you're likely to find catfish in their nests because they seldom abandon their eggs.

Here are two guys noodling in the afternoon...........

And the chicks noodle too!

I am completely fascinated by this form of Noodling........I think all of those hunters I know need to start noodling! But be careful - I hear you can lose a limb.........

Here are some updated picts of Tater Tot

Tater Tot at 16 weeks. Getting bigger! No, Nat, its not 20 weeks yet. I can't wait though! I will give an exact date after my update on Tuesday.

Here is Jason kissing Tater Tot! So cute......I love that Jason.

This one has nothing to do with Tater Tot - I received a promotion at work last week and I'm quite excited!
**A Side Note - Jason is a jerk-face for making me believe I killed his fish.
Back to my promotion - I worked very hard for this and hopefully I'll be able to keep it up. I know I will be able to keep up the hard work I just hope I can keep up with the brokers. I work for 4 of them now and so far so good! They are all nice to work with but once the volume gets going for each of them I will really have to manage my time well.

Tater Tot Moves ~ 1/12/09

I felt Tater Tot for the first time today - I was in the hallway of a down town Government building waiting to be called for Jury Duty. And when they say "flutter" they are pretty accurate. To me it felt more like I was rolling down a hill and got a funny feeling in my stomach for a quick minute. And it happened more than once! Oh Tater Tot, we can't wait to meet you.

Time to Celebrate a New Year

Well, since I have not blogged since October of 08 I guess its finally time. Jason and I have a lot to celebrate in 2009 - even though I am not quite ready for this new year. I'm not exactly sure why but I think it has to do with my industry and the market but that is all boring stuff and what ever happens will happen and we will get through it.

Lets get back to the celebrating..........we are expecting again! This time I am having a healthy pregnancy and I am 13 weeks. Only one more week until the 2nd trimester and so far its been a great ride. Well, minus those few weeks I was quite bitchy for no reason but all of the books I have been reading and friends I have been talking to say its normal. Whew! I didn't even like being around myself! I am feeling really good now and the only real changes besides my stomach are I eat a lot more and sleep a lot more. Nothing bad about those things! We are calling the baby LB - Little Bean and her/his heart is nice and strong. We've heard the heart beat 4 times and each time its like a little dose of fun and scary reality. We are so excited!!

Starting next week we start the search for Day Care............this stresses me out a little but I think it will be fun? I'm trying to keeping a positive attitude. My girlfriends have given me some good places to start - I have to say its very nice having girlfriends that already have kids. They are FULL of great information!

New Year resolutions? I'm not sure I have many - really I haven't even thought about it. My resolutions are pretty much the same every year. Be a better person, give more of my time to others, work harder and work on communication with my husband so my marriage stays strong. That's about it.

I do hope Tyler (old high school friend) has a great delivery. She is due with her third this month!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 2009! I love you all, hugs and kisses!
Jen
