Ekiden

This was my second year running Ekiden. An Ekiden (駅伝), usually referred to as a marathon relay in English, is a long-distance relay, road race.

The term originated in Japan. The first ekiden race was sponsored by the Yomiuri Shimbun in 1917, and was run over three days between the old Japanese capital of Kyoto and the modern capital of Tokyo, a distance of 508 km, to celebrate the anniversary of the moving of the capital to Tokyo.

Its such a fun race! We run in Piedmont Park - It starts at the park on 10th and Charles Allen. You run out of the park and turn right onto 10th, then right onto Peachtree, right onto Piedmont, right onto Monroe and then back into the park off of 10th. Its a circle around the park and is just shy of 26.2 miles. Its a great way to hang out with friends, meet new people, eat good food and drink.

N.A.S.C.A.R.

Yeah Jimmy! So, Jimmy Johnson came in 2nd place yesterday - what was the race? I couldn't tell you. I do know it was held at Atlanta Speedway and this is my 6th or 7th race with C-Dawg and her Family.

I am not your typical Nascar fan. I understand why people LOVE Nascar and how devoted the fans are but my main reason for going it to hang out with Carren and her family. It never bothers me who wins or loses as long as a good time has been had. I love walking around with the Stacks and watching them get excited about their drivers. I love the people watching and nine times out of ten everyone at the Nascar Race is very nice and they are there just to have a good time. There is beer, corn dogs, cigarettes and black tar from the tires. What more could you ask for on a sunny Sunday afternoon?

Thanks for asking us to go Carren!!! We loved it!!!
